Red Lacquer Coffer
2 Drawer locking Coffer
Beautiful two drawer lacquer coffer with splayed legs flanked by long decoratively shaped flange brackets with avian carvings.
This was used as a lockable ‘safe’ for storing valuables and documents in the large space below the two drawers. Access was obtained by unlocking and removing one or both of the drawers.
